Motsands

Our story

We build trust
into every load

Motsands was born from a simple observation: Nigeria's construction industry moves billions of naira in aggregates every year — yet cash, missed deliveries and zero accountability are still the norm. We're here to change that.

The problem

Cash, no phone,
zero accountability

A contractor in Lagos pays cash to a middleman. A truck shows up — or doesn't. The sand is short by a third. The driver has moved on. There's no receipt, no record, and no way to escalate. This scenario plays out thousands of times a day across Nigeria.

Contractors over-order by 20–30% to compensate for losses. Site managers spend hours chasing drivers by phone. Project cost overruns from material waste are absorbed silently — and passed on to the end buyer.

Our approach

Accountability,
engineered in

Motsands isn't just a marketplace. We own the delivery experience end-to-end — quarry sourcing, fleet management, site inspection, and digital proof of delivery — so accountability is structural, not optional.

👁

Visibility

Every order is visible in real time — from quarry gate to site delivery. Nothing happens off the record.

⚖️

Accountability

Drivers are rated. Sites are inspected. Loads are weighed. Accountability is built into every step.

💰

Transparent Pricing

You see every line — material cost, delivery, fees, VAT — before you place the order. Always.

🤝

Trust

We sit between buyer and supplier and guarantee the transaction. Our brand is our guarantee.

Motenda haulage fleet

Built on 30 years of haulage

The Motenda heritage

Motsands is the technology arm of Motenda — a logistics group with three decades of heavy-haulage operations across Southern Nigeria. We didn't read about the problem. We lived it.

"Uncle Motenda" — the group's founder — built a reputation on reliability in an industry that rarely offered it. Olawale Ogunleye, his co-founder on the technology side, brings the platform that turns that reputation into a scalable, auditable business.

"We Move What Nigeria Builds."
